USA Road trip - June 2011 - Day 3

Just Married! We've got to hit the Road.... Route 66 that is!!

HAVE TO stop at Walmart! We need a tent, a sleeping bag (actually, we will soon find out we need two and not just one coz it's freaking cold at night even during summer time!!), some "dry" food.... And I find myself dreaming I'm an American Housewife doing her food shopping there, with the huuuuuge trolleys, the huuuuuge alleys and the huuuuuuuuuuuuge size of everything.... it's so much more exciting than the French supermarket!!

Petit arrêt rapide à Chloride. Mis à part le joli panneau, il n'y a rien à faire et il n'y a pas un chat!

A quick stop in Chloride which, except for its cool sign, is pretty much dead and burried...

After a 3-hour drive, we stop at the perfect diner for a cold root beer... how I miss it!

On a la Route 66 à nous tout seul.... c'est pas le luxe ça??

Not a single soul on Route 66.... It is for us...exclusively! how sweet is that!!!

After a whole day on the road, we're wrecked and hungry. We're in Seligman, it's 10pm, everything's closed except for that little café... and it's just PURRFECT.

  1. Such good, fun photos. Roadtrips always seem like they'd be so colorful to me, and this definitely captures that.

  2. Hi Elizabeth,
Thank you very much!! It certainly was very colourful, espcially since in the US, land and sun do great things any time of the day, from one shade to another!
